Our 6th grade participated in DARE graduation on Friday, May 10.

6th graders at North Stanly Middle School in Mrs. Palmer’s math blocks recently started a new math online program called IXL. What is IXL? “IXL (from "I excel") is a math website for K-12 (subscription based). It has unlimited questions on thousands of math topics and a comprehensive reporting system.” The math teachers at NSMS use this to supplement their instruction.

Congratulations to Lindy Barrett! She won the Area 8 (12 counties) Soil and Water Conservation 6th grade poster contest.

Cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-20 season at NSMS will be May 22-24 from 3:00-5:00.

Our 2018-19 athletic banquet will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the gym.

FREE sports physicals will be offered on Saturday, May 18 at Atrium Health’s CHS Stanly in Albemarle.

Our Battle of the Books team won the county competition on Friday, April 5!

Mrs. Palmer, a 6th grade teacher, partnered with Mrs. Furr's first grade class at Badin Elementary to share moon books written by the sixth graders. Both first and sixth grade science curriculum includes learning about the phases of the moon.
